Purpose of Inaugural Dedication
The purpose of the Inaugural Dedication is to honor our ancestors who created, developed, and passed down the art of karate by presenting and performing the techniques that have been handed down through the generations, and to raise awareness of “The Karate Day” and “Okinawa as the birthplace of karate” throughout Japan and beyond.
Event information
Following remarks by the organizers and honored guests, the details of the 2026 Dedication Demonstration will be announced, followed by a dedication performance by holders of Okinawa Prefecture’s Intangible Cultural Property designation.

If it is determined on Sunday, the 25th, that the weather will be inclement, we will announce any cancellation or change of venue (to the dojo inside the Okinawa Karate Kaikan) on the website at 8:00 a.m.
