Purpose of Inaugural Dedication
The purpose of the Inaugural Dedication is to honor our ancestors who created, developed, and passed down the art of karate by presenting and performing the techniques that have been handed down through the generations, and to raise awareness of Karate Day and Okinawa as the birthplace of karate throughout Japan and beyond.
Event information
Following opening remarks from the organizer and guest-of-honor, the presidents of the four member organizations of the Okinawa Dento Karatedo Shinkokai will present a demonstration. A Dedication Performance featuring an individual who has been designated as an intangible cultural asset of Okinawa Prefecture will take place at the end of the event.

Notice Regarding Response to Inclement Weather
If it is determined on Friday, the 24th, that the weather will be inclement, an announcement of cancellation will be made on the website at 5:00 p.m.
If it is determined on Saturday, the 25th, that the weather will be inclement, an announcement of the venue change (Peace Memorial Museum Hall) will be made on the website at 8:00 a.m.
